This service is offered on a twenty four hours / seven days basis and is ready to answer people's calls asking for support. Taking action is the second pillar on which the organization relies having four important action subcategories: the mitigation - limiting the causes that may produce a natural catastrophe (for example, the pollution reduction actions), getting prepared - preparing the population in case of an imminent danger, taking action - actively intervene during and shortly after the incident in order to reduce the damages, as well as in order to save human life; the final step is the recovery - correcting the negative effect of the catastrophe - for example, in case of floods helping people to rebuild their houses. For example, in 2006 the hurricanes produced important damages for the Americans living on the Costal side of the continent. For those people, the MDCEM offered information about the evolution of the hurricanes on an hourly basis, offered them support after the incident had occurred and helped them raise funds for rebuilding their houses, and for trying to go on with their life as it was before the incident had occurred.

In order to better cover the American continent, MDCEM organization divided its activity in regional or local points of intervention, like NVOAD. In this way,...

NVOAD organization has multi-level partnership agreements with other volunteer societies - like the Red Cross, Lutheran Disaster services, which enable them to better perform in emergency cases. Also, another important objective of the NVOAD is to collect funds and attract sponsors. Besides helping people recover corporations could also improve their public image by their own material contributions to funds for people affected by disasters. The role of motivating corporations to offer important sum of money relies in the responsibility of the volunteer organization.
Conclusions

The current reality with climatic changes, weather and environmental modifications pose potential dangers for an increasing part of the Earth population. This is the reason why people set up volunteer organizations, for the purpose of helping people faced with unfortunate and unexpected situations. The indirect and direct action of humans against the environment, through pollution and terrorism, can be corrected, to a certain extent, by these organizations. People helping other people, seems to be the motto that lightens up the current dark situation which an ever increasing section of the human kind is facing.
